Demolition, and Moving Forward into Autumn

It has been a little while since we’ve shared a fire update, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been very busy. There has been a lot happening behind the scenes, and we wanted to take a moment to share an update on our progress.
We had to wait for the proper authorities to give us the OK to clear the site, and we finally received that approval in mid-September. We were relieved to finally see the remains of the fire cleared away, but it was difficult to watch so many familiar pieces of the market disappear along with so many memories. Our demolition team did a great job clearing the site and helping us take this next step. Thank you for bearing with us last week when we had to close for two days as demolition got underway. We know that after everything we’ve already been through, another unexpected closure was frustrating, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

With much of the site now cleared, we are able to open up the fire fencing and move the tent off the grass. This will allow us to make use of some of the space where the market once stood as we bring out our fall products. So, as you might expect, you’ll be seeing plenty more pumpkins around here very soon.
At the same time, there is still a lot of planning happening behind the scenes. We’ve been meeting with architects, engineers, and greenhouse experts as we begin thinking about what the future of Bauman’s will look like. There is still a long road ahead, and we don’t have all the answers yet. But step by step, we are clearing the way, making plans, and figuring out what comes next.
For now, we’re looking forward to filling the space with pumpkins, fall color, and as much of the Bauman’s you know and love as we can.
We hope you’ll come in soon to see our new tent setup. There will be plenty of mums, specialty gourds, straw bales, and cornstalks, along with pumpkins of all sizes—including our painted Buffalo Bills pumpkins! And soon, we’ll even be raising the teepee again.
We’re grateful to be here, grateful to be moving forward, and especially grateful that you’re continuing to come along with us.
